Inspire Volunteers with Award Certificates

Every year around the holidays, people seem to notice the need for volunteers and giving back more than any other time of the year. Known as "the Season for Giving," it's no wonder that so many people become conscious of their ability to help others. The most popular volunteers across the U.S. during the month of November and December are probably the Salvation Army bell ringers. These people take time out of their daily lives to stand in front of stores and shopping centers around the country, ringing a bell and taking donations for the Salvation Army. This tradition started in 1891, when a man named Captain Joseph McFee wanted to help the poor people of San Francisco to be able to enjoy a Christmas dinner. Over time, the tradition spread, and now there are thousands of red kettles and bell ringers across the U.S. every holiday season.

When people take the time out of their daily lives to help others, it's only right that you should reward them for their servitude. It's not necessary for you to reward people for volunteering, but it sure does boost morale and help them to feel appreciated. There are plenty of free awards and certificate templates that you can use for volunteer reward and recognition; there are thousands of designs, templates, and styles to choose from for all of your award giving needs. It's also cost-effective as opposed to gift giving or other forms of reward. You could spend a little of the money you save on frames, and have a nicer way to give the awards by already having them framed so that people can simply hang them on their walls, for a constant reminder of how appreciated they are for their volunteering efforts.

For example, if you're in charge of the candy stripers at the hospital where you work, you might notice one or two that are going above and beyond the call of duty in their volunteering. Perhaps they're spending more time with patients, or helping with duties that are outside of what they're supposed to do; no matter what they are doing, if it's more than expected, rewarding them is a great way to let them know that they are appreciated. You can print out awards and give them to the recipients; if you do it in a public forum, you'll be able to guarantee that other people will see this and be more likely to strive for excellence and do better in their volunteering so that they can be rewarded for their work.

Volunteer work is a large part of every community. In fact, even businesses like
ABC Distributing are encouraging employees to volunteer in corporate philanthropy programs. There are certain things and events that cannot happen without volunteers; the people that take the time to give of themselves should be recognized and rewarded for their efforts. Using free printable awards to do this can provide them with the satisfaction and inspiration to keep going, and can provide you with a cost-effective solution for rewarding volunteers.
